In 2002 we were asked to assist the land owner of the O'Brien Lake quarter section to negotiate with the City of Grande Prairie the possibility of providing municipal services to this property. The 160 acre parcel, which contained a 50 acre lake, was previously declined service tie-ins by the City due to a shortage of capacity in the municipal system.
Since 1994 we have been involved in land development in Grande Prairie and have developed an excellent rapport with the City. We proposed to the City an alternate service tie-in method and the City accepted the innovative design and allowed the property to be developed. As a result of our involvement, the landowner was able to secure a sale of the lands at 40% more than previous offers received.
